This is a fun story in The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids series by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones. The Halloween/Alien-themed story is entertaining and the humorous illustrations by John Steven Gurney are a wonderful complement to the narrative. There are about 16 pages of additional puzzles and activities at the end of the book that are challenging, fun and test a child's comprehension of the story. There is an interesting no-bake chocolate peanut butter cookie recipe (see below, [...]

This book is a cute idea. The four main characters are fun. Eddie is the practical joker who loves Halloween tricks, jokes and especially the candy. Howie is the intellectual and loves chocolate. Melody is typical girl, practical, skeptical of strange things. Lisa can think outside the box. And who is Mr. Sparks? Short, round, shiny blue pants, silver boots and definitely, suspiciously different. Plus he has bought up every piece of candy in town and wants more. The book is written for younger ch [...]

The collection of "The adventures of the Bailey School Kids" stories are among my all-time favorite children's books. Witty, mischievous and fun, these short and silly books continue to bring giggles to the young and old. Just as I have enjoyed them as a kid, my own children also love them today. I even catch myself re-reading them (alone) from time to time. What can I say? I guess I'll always be a BSK kid at heart.

I've never read any of the 'Baily School Kids' books, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But if it says anything, I read it to my five(almost six)-year-old, and he said, "it's all the stars, full". So there you have it. A five-star review from my Kindergartener. I have to agree. It was a very fast read and a lot of fun. We'll have to find more 'Baily' books at the library.

This one involves a party planner with a penchant for shiny clothes, outer space, and candy. It revisits the teacher being a vampire. I felt like the resolution was not that great this time around. However, the kids will still enjoy it.

Pretty cute. This story is about the Bailey School kids preparing for Halloween. Along the way they discover an alien in their midst and all the candy has disappeared, just in time for the holiday. The kids need to save the day in more ways than one.

Eddie encounters an alien-like man during his annual Halloween pranks. Amusing and unusual.
