Editing issues aside, this book mentions a lot of the more well-known Chicago disasters along with some of the lesser known. I like the way the book is divided into different sections, types of disaster: fire, water, wind, and earth.

Chicago's history is utterly fascinating! The Windy City truly was built on blood and fire. Everyone should read this.
