The focus of this third and last book of the Song of Alaska series focuses on Lydia's daughter Britta, now 24 years old. Britta had left Sitka, Alaska, six years before in 1900, to distance herself from Yuri, the love of her life, when he married another woman. She has a passion for music, and has traveled the world while playing her violin. She comes home for a visit after being offered a position in a prestigious orchestra, and also a marriage proposal from the man who offered her the job.Upon [...]

I received a review copy of Twilight's Serenade from Bethany House, and am under no requirement to write a positive review, just an honest one.Twilight's Serenade follow the story of Lydia Lindquist's daughter, Britta Lindquist.Britta took up violin and after having her heart broken by Yuri Belikov left Sitka to try to get over him, forget about him and move on.6 years later, Britta returns to Sitka and must decide if she is going to take an offer to join an amazing orchestra in England, but she [...]

I love historical fiction from Tracie Peterson and I love her books set in Alaska, but I did not love this book. It was okay. It was the third and final book in the Song of Alaska series, not really a generation later, but almost it continued the story of Britta, the daughter of our protagonist from the first book, Dawn's Prelude and the sister of our main character from the second book in the series, Morning's Refrain, both of which I loved. Even though this was not my favorite read from Tracie [...]

This is the third book in Peterson's series, Song of Alaska. Britta has just returned from traveling abroad and has the opportunity of a lifetime to play her violin in a reknown orchestra. However, she comes home to Alaska with a heavy heart and not ready to talk to her family about what is going on. Meanwhile, Yuri's wife dies while having a baby, unbeknowest to Yuri because he has left and is nursing his pain with alcohol. He was forced to marry Marsha, a known prostitute, one drunken night. P [...]

This book was amazing. I loved how the story progressed with Britta and Yuri. I only wish there wasnt a gap at the end. I also wish there was another book to follow the Lindquist family . maybe one day Tracie Peterson will write more! If you loved the other two you will adore this last book!

I was not disappointed in the third book. It picked up at a respectable distance that allowed the family to move on but yet not bore us with every little thing that happened. Things were brought up nicely so that we were able to catch up and figure out how much time had passed.

Twilight's Serenade by Tracie Peterson is the third book in the Songs of Alaska series. Britta Lindquist has returned home to Sitka, Alaska, after spending six years on tour playing her violin around the world. She has a difficult choice to make: marry Brenton Maltese and accept his invitation to be first chair in a new orchestra in London, or stay home with her large family and try to get over her life-long love for Yuri Belikov. When she arrives home, she quickly finds herself helping Yuri's w [...]

I liked this series a lot but I'm not quite sure what I thought about the series being spread out over so many years. In the first book Lydia and Kjell were the main characters and now Kjell is 71 and while Lydia's age was never stated again I'm guessing she is in her 60s. I struggled with that part of the story but other than that I enjoyed it. I liked seeing Yuri finally find some peace in his life and get straightened out so he could build a relationship with Britta. I was also surprised that [...]

Tracie Peterson is a master of historical fiction and this book is a great addition to her library of writing. I read the first book in this series and somehow missed the second book, I was pleased to see that the third book isn't reliant on the previous books but can stand on its on feet if necessary. Much time has passed since the first book, the infant in book one is now a dad with children of his own. Now his younger sister is the main character in this book and she is returning home after b [...]

Twilight's Serenade by Tracie Peterson is the 3rd and final book in the Song of Alaska series. Once again, the setting for novel is Sitka, Alaska. It is well written and continues the story of the family of Lydia and Kwell Lindquist but focuses on their youngest daughter Britta and her relationship with Yuri and the love they eventually find together after Yuri's wife dies and leaves him with a newborn baby and young child. Another subplot within the book involves the great earthquake and fires [...]

I was very anxious to read this one of the third in this series and it was by far better than thesecond one and I am sad there is not another in this series. Britta is a very strong willed womanwho also has the patience of Job and it pays off for her. She is such an emotional and caring womanand I could help but cry at the horrible event that takes place in her life. Lydia's past comes backagain and climaxes once again. The historical part of this book is very captivating too and keepsthis book [...]

Even though the story was generally good, the storyline seemed to drag on and at times the scenarios were confusing. For example, when stating how many children one family had, it appeared the author was trying to include all her children, whether her own or not; therefore it would be four children not the three the author claimed. But nevertheless will continue to read books by this author as I generally like her writing.

Another of Tracy Peterson's novels. This the third in a series taking place in Alaska. This is Britta's and Yuri's story. Britta has loved Yuri since she was seven years old and told him she would marry him. As she becomes an accomplished muscian she never stops loving Yuri so she returns to Alaska to see if there is hope for him to love her. Is about family and love of Jesus Christ in an exciting adventure.

Well, it wasn't that good. Everything moved along far too easily with little conflict. I kept asking why Brita was so attracted to Yuri(?). Yuri recovered from his alcoholism within a couple days which is absurd. I like faith-inspired fiction and I read it often, but this story was a little too preachy for me.

This is the third book in the Song of Alaska seriesis one centers on Britta, the daughter of Lydia and Kjell, and her lifelong love for Yuri. Another wonderful reade only problem is that Tracie Peterson builds such a connection to her characters that I wanted her to write ten more books and keep developing the family history. This series has caused me to want to visit Alaska someday.

WARNING: Very much a sequel book. It is very hard to read if you have not read the first two books in the series. I found myself wondering most of the time what was going on as it referenced to things in previous books. A lot of books in sequels tend to be standalone, but I would say definitely that THIS ONE IS NOT.

These are wonderful characters in a warm, god-orientated family. It's amazing to see how far we have changed from having godly-upbringing. A little 3-year old girl even knows how to pray and have unwavering faith. I love this type of book to help me in my struggles with faith and being a christian to others and myself.

Britta Linquist comes home to Sitka with a decision to make.Should sheAccept the job as a violinist in England or remain here where her heart is.She has always loved Yuri Belikov and now she is home and caring for hismotherless children as his wife died in childbirth. Can Britta fight for what shewants? A tale of love and family values. A well written enjoyable read.

I did not like this one much. It was pretty depressing. If you have not read the first two, this one will not make much sense. I did not care for Britta. She was so forward and willful. Everything did work out but it seemed that she forced it and then was too proud to talk about it. Also Lydia's spirit of unforgiveness made me sad.

8 - Good storyline. It would be hard to lose a child. Liked the Christian theme added to it about forgiveness, accepting Jesus Christ into your life and how changing it can be. Mareston was quite the character - Dalton was a good brother despite all he had done. Glad there was happiness for Yuri and Britta in the end :)

I enjoyed this series. At the beginning, Peterson made Alaska sound so interesting, I felt like moving there. :0). By the end of the series, the dangers of the Alaskan frontier more than put me off even visiting. :0). I liked the people and enjoyed following the different families. Generally speaking, I liked that Peterson kept things happening throughout the entire series.

Last book of the series it always makes me sad when I end a great series I wish there was more but it was well written I had to read it as soon as I finished the second book of the series. I fell in love with Britta's character because she reminded me of myself and found it sweet she was always their for her childhood sweetheart and waited for him.
