    This is quite a good vintage anthology. Many of the most influential SF authors of the period from 1941 to 1962 are represented--Anderson, Asimov, Boucher, Bradbury, Heinlein, Miller, Sturgeon--and I especially appreciated that, of the 16 stories editor Robert P. Mills chose to include in the collection, he managed to strike a good balance between classics ("All You Zombies--") and more obscure gems ("Memento Homo," "A Work of Art").     Some good stuffd it also contains the author giving an intro for each story (particularly interesting in the case of a guy like Collier). Unfortunately though Mills felt the need to mine the veins of Literature, so we got stuck with a couple clunkers. Like that "Faq" thing, and--especially--the one by R V Cassill, which was a totally unreadable piece of junk (I actually once had a writing manual assigned in class from that guy--eek!). And the whole thing concludes (or terminates) with a heapin' [...]
