    Dramatically uneven collection. Chapters by Basil Mitchell, Richard Swinburne, Linda Trinkaus Zagzebski, and Nicholas Wolterstorff offer some value.

    This was a hard book, much harder than I anticipated. Because it was 11 different philosophers writing, it very often felt like I was reading 11 mini-autobiographies of people I knew absolutely nothing about. It was interesting to read of their various faith journeys and how Christianity influences their work and thinking. I also got some really good nuggets of wisdom and spiritual truth from this book.     I enjoyed this book enough to buy a copy for a friend - enough said. It's sort of eleven books in one - eleven spiritual autobiographies by eleven different philosophers. Some were heartfelt (Wolterstorff's closing essay was somberly moving), others intellectual (Swinburne's thoughts on the philosophy of science). Some were philosophical summaries, others blunt stories about growing up. To say that I agreed with everything I read is probably a logical impossibility. But I'm glad I read the book. [...]

    I've made up my mind. The chapter by Nicholas Wolterstorff is my favorite which is to say that I think I've known him for years, whereas the others are only now acquaintances at best.
