A great start to a hopefully great seriesI thought that this book was really good and it made me really want to continue on with this series. I don't usually like prequels because just as I get into the story it ends, but this is a fine introduction into what's coming. Very dark and intriguing. I found myself rooting for the protagonist. A great teaser. I'm sure the following book will have the same amount of action and adventure.

A thrilling tale of treachery and deceit, danger and intrigue. Wonderfully paced and a fascinating introduction to the series. Looking forward to reading Irons in the Fire and continuing the journey.

A dangerous road to a dangerous placedIt was intriguing and had a strong hook from the first page. It was like fishing for the big one, but it rambled and twisted its way to the dangerous city. Only to encounter an intensity of more danger and enemies at the place so long desired. A foretaste of mystery, betrayal, murder and sometimes truth in a dangerous place. Great for a getaway read. PG for violence.
