WOW!!! This is an AMAZING read! Page turner but yet with strong research into the info. Not sure how to really explain this book, but I can tell you that if you like reading books like this, you will love this book!

MY THOUGHTS:First off: This book is for mature readers. It contains violence, sex, adult language. People like thrillers for different reasons. Some like the suspense, the mystery, the moment when you hold your breathe, the edge of your seat anticipation and some like it all. This thriller grabs you from the moment you start reading and then it gradually grabs you harder and harder and won't let go. The authors give you descriptions of the main characters and you can almost reach out and touch t [...]

In early 1933, the Nazis plan a fake assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler, the new German Chancellor. This fake attempt will allow the Nazis to declare martial law and liquidate their political opponents. Churchill learns of the fake plot and persuades Mattie McGary, his adventure-seeking Scottish god-daughter and William Randolph Hearst’s top photojournalist, to investigate. The plot turns perilous for Mattie when she is kidnapped by Hitler’s enemies within the Nazi party who are conspirin [...]

The Berghof Betrayal is the 4th book in the Winston Churchill 1930s Thriller series. I have NOT read the first three books in the series. That being said I had no problem reading this as a stand alone. The authors include information learned from the previous books to explain the history between the characters. However, some of that information could be considered spoilers for the previous books. I always recommend reading a series in order if possible, but its not always necessary. That being s [...]

The Berghof Betrayal, a Winston Churchill 1930s Thriller by Michael McMenamin and Patrick McMenamin is very much an adult historic thriller because of adult concepts, language, and sex. That aside I personally found the book to be rather thrilling! I loved how the book followed more than one character and how it stayed true to the time period. There were spots that had me wondering if this could have really happened that is how realistic it was! Mattie McGary was easily me favorite person in the [...]

I have to say that I was unsure how much I would enjoy this book at the beginning, because while I love thrillers sometimes historical fiction can end up being rather dry. However, that was not the case with this book it was filled with thrills and I did not lack for entertainment or enjoyment. I loved how the author kept the time period so accurate without going into too many details. All in all I really enjoyed this book!

A Cracker of a thriller: an engrossing readGenerally I find the best thrillers captivate the reader from the very start and this book did that for me. I found the structure of the book excellent: bold descriptive chapter headings followed by relatively short informatively titled sub-chapters. This makes it easy to find your place in the book and location in the world. The narrative possesses a natural flow as the authors introduce the main characters, skilfully and successfully painting a pictur [...]

“The Berghof Betrayal” eBook was published in 2016 and was written by Michael and Patrick McMenamin. Mr. McMenamin has published seven novels and this is the fourth in their “Winston Churchill 1930s Thriller” series.I received a galley of this novel for review through netgalley. I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Violence, Mature Language and Mature Situations. While some of the story is set in the US and England, most of it occurs in 1933 Germany. The Nazi [...]

Winston Churchill has learned that there is going to be a fake attempt to kill Hitler. He contacts Randolph Hearst and tells him of the plot. Hearst sends his best reporter to Germany to investigate and file her results. The attempted murder will allow Hitler to declare martial law and begin the round up of Jews and Communist and anyone else that is against the Nazies This is a thick and rich tale that is impossible to put downformative and thrilling. So many twist and turns and the ending is gr [...]
