The classical book about best friends. One is beautiful and has always been in a relationship, but after dedicating her life to please one boyfriend after the other she is over thirty and still not married. The other is a career woman, with an upscale apartment downtown and has all the help money can buy to make her unconventional beauty really stand out, always impeccable, always stylish; but she is also chronically single and only hangs out with gay friends because they are ”safe”.One jealou [...]

    Fabulous Book Fiend
With Julia Llewellyn’s new book just out I thought I would read another of her offerings that I haven’t read alongside it. If I were you centres around two friends Sophie and Natasha who met at school and whose lives have gone in different directions but have remained firm friends, never living too far apart from one another. This formula was sure to be a hit with me!The book started off a little hard to get into. We are introduced to Sophie and Natasha quickly and Sophie’s former Stepbrot [...]

it's about friendship, family, love, career, basically things people cherish their whole life.i love the friendship that Natasha and Sophie had. it reminds me of the 14 years of friendship i have with my bestfriend. it gave me a slight picture of what actually can happen during these friendship. a cute chicklit reading, simply can't let it down, kept thinking how it turns out. and fortunately am satisfied with the ending. a good happy ending always made my day. :)

It was kind of hard to get into this book and kind of hard to keep track of the characters. The last 200 pages or so were definitely more interesting than the first. I saw it more as a look at how people often make poor choices or stay in bad situations for the wrong reasons - a fairly honest reflection of human behavior, rather than a story. Not much of a plot

At first it was a lot like her other book, 'The Model Wife', right to each characters' trait but I'm very relieved when in the middle it started to change a bit. Unfortunately, she used the 'pretty but doesn't realize it' card. Too bad, should empower ugly women more lol.

"If I Were You" is one of those books I could plod along and read for weeks to come without getting particularly bored - despite not having major plot twists and "oh my GOD" moments. This story followed the lives of two 'best friends' Sophie and Natasha. Both of which are involved in terrible and sometimes cringe-worthy relationships at some point. Despite following the 'best friends' and their dramas, I couldn't help but notice just how little the 'best friends' actually liked each other. I'm n [...]

Typical. Two best friends each with something great to give the world (typically, one beautiful, but kind of stupid and the other not too pretty but really motivated with a great job) each are jealous of each other and each think that the other has it easy. Duh! You can see where this is going already. And ohmigod, it took like a year and a half to get to the end of this book! They were also friends with a dude, who was the ex step-brother of the pretty but dumb girl. I wish they did more with h [...]

After reading some pretty intense books over the past few weeks I was ready for something light and easy to read. Llewellyn certainly gave me that but I wasn't altogether satisfied with the book. For me it started off a bit shaky, I was unsure about the characters and the plot wasn't very thrilling. I'd like to say it got better and it did in a way, the characters became a lot more plausible and Llewellyn throws in a lot of surprises to keep you on your toes. However I became very frustrated with [...]

The one things that comes to mind with this book is 'the grass isn't always greener'. I think that it's easy to relate to this book because at some point in our lives, we've always thought that one of our friends has an easier/ better/ nicer/ more fulfilled life for whatever reason. I did enjoy reading the book but it was hard to see how these two girls, who practically share very little in common, avoid talking to each other and don't share their secrets - are best friends. Individually however [...]

I had hoped to enjoy this book more than I actually did, but as I got further into it, I realised there wasn't much that set the story and idea behind the book apart from countless others I've read and for that, I refuse to give it a decent review.

One of my simple favorite romance novel. If I were You sometimes pop up in my mind, and this novel is very fresh, easy yet hard to resist :)Like how the story ends and yeap everything deserve a happy ending :D

This is definitely a chicklit, but quite a refreshing one. It was humorous yet very touching. The friendship between the main characters and their emotions toward each other were very real. This is a good one to read on a bench in the sun with a good frappucino in your hand, like I did yesterday.

I almost had to leave this book behind when I was overseas, and before I'd read it. I'm so glad I didn't have to. The characters and story lines were fun, and I enjoyed reading it.
