    This is a decent collection of ghost stories and almost ghost stories. Although I find the decision to kick off the anthology with a very ineffective story by Edward Bulwar-Lytton to be as inexplicable as the hauntings in this book, things got better once I decided to skip the rest of Ed's tale. Not all of he stories are winners, of course, but I did enjoy pieces by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Bram Stoker (an author I generally find dull with the exception of "Dracula"), Stephen King, H.P. Lovecra [...]
