he really knows a lot about the topic. his sense of humor makes an otherwise heavy read very enjoyable. i'm not quite convinced that's the way that i want to garden, but i would definitely check it out again to use it as a reference for drought hardy plants that would do well in my region (wasatch front).

Fantastically informative book. The author's humor makes it all the more entertaining. Some of the recommendations seem a little extreme and I don't know if I could really do no water gardening, but the book was a great resource for my Zone.

Droll and delightful. It's out of print but still available online. Try to find the hardcover. It has colour photos but the paperback has black and white. Even though my garden is lush and sealevel and damp, I learned several useful tips from this book.

    Colleen
Laugh out loud hilarious and VERY well researched, a new twist for a gardening book.

    Toni
Excellent writer. A great balance of 40 years of gardening humor, practical advice, and keen observation.

    Susan
Not practical; not enough pictures or planning suggestions.

This book inspired me to try a dry garden. I will get it again when I'm ready to start the garden.
