Berserk is amazing. The story is just incredible, dark, violent, and extremely compelling. (The anime's great too, I have to rewatch it.) We're in what must be the third big arc of the story, and it's definitely up there with the first arc. It's very hard to resist going back to the Alameda Borders to keep reading.

This is the 22nd volume in the Berserk series. In this volume Griffith returns as the Hawk of Light. He has Zodd the Immortal at his side and, while Guts is not quite a match for Zodd, he makes a good showing of it and Griffith leaves. Ends up Griffith has his eye on another kingdom that he is determined to make his own. This part of the story introduces a whole new cast of characters; all of them are very interesting. After the initial encounter with Griffith, Guts and Casca start on a long jour [...]

The development of Serpico is welcome at the second half of this volume, and the mercilessness of the Kushans make a good foil for the Band of the Hawk to look welcoming. This said, the return of Griffith and the darker band of the hawk is a mixed blessing and the relationship to the Godhand seems hard to disentangle.

This is another progression of Guts, the Black Swordsman. This edition is not only his story but also others around him and the kingdoms as well. It is an interesting graphic novel series.

Guts and Casca return home, only to find an unwanted visitor. Also get to see some epic sword battles and just how merciless the Kushan are.

The good old manga was picked up for the season. The blood is flowing, the carnage was almost on every second page as Guts, the black swordsman, made his way trough the country. He saved little Elf named Puck, who became his unwanted but devoted companion and one would say he was making Guts remembering that there is something more then gutting random people, monsters and accidentally some little girls.

I am stuck on this tome for now, as my local library has loaned them already (and they are late, which doesn't look good for me, since they only have a single copy of each!). The serie is still as breath taking as the first tomes, and I just can't WAIT to read the rest of it. It is just as harsh and it gets to you just as much as the first books. I tought it might tire, but it sure hasn't yet!

    The fights were inspiring.
