    Neil Simon
Marvin Neil Simon is an American playwright and screenwriter He is one of the most reliable hitmakers in Broadway history, as well as one of the most performed playwrights in the world Though primarily a comic writer, some of his plays, particularly the Eugene Trilogy and The Sunshine Boys, reflect on the twentieth century Jewish American experience.

Still funny but more emotionally powerful than its predecessors.

Neil Simon was one of the first playwrights I loved, although it’s been years since I’ve read one of his plays. While adult me enjoyed Broadway Bound, it didn’t grab me the way I remember his plays affected me as a teenager. Maybe it’s this particular play and the sole female character. Maybe it’s that I’m older and my tastes have changed.I also think the world’s changed since I first encountered his plays. For all I want more comedy – for all I am sick of the creative celebration [...]

This is he third in Simon's semi-autobiographical "Eugene" trilogy (following Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues) and it might have been my favorite of the three. It was hilarious. My favorite part was the humorless socialist grandpa with impeccable comedic timing. Next up in my Neil Simon binge: California Suite.

Eugene and his brother try to break into show business as writers as their parents marriage falls apart. Funny play, fast paced and enjoyable. All the members of the family are funny, making for a good experience. Recommend

My favorite Neil Simon play I’ve read so far.

This is the last play in the Eugene Trilogy and it did not disappoint. What I like best about Neil Simon is the way his characters make me feel. Happy, sad, proud, anxious, heartbroken. This final play has Eugene and Stanley grown and establishing their comedy careers while the parents and grandparents are going through continuing relationship challenges.

This last play in the Eugene trilogy of Neil Simon is as magnificent as the first two plays in this series. This time Eugene and his brother Stanley are trying to be comedic writers in a radio station. This semi-autobiographic play is a paean to the glory times in New York after the war. It is nostalgic, warm, and funny.

A very good play. A very good end to the Eugene Trilogy.

Few people do modern drama and comedy better than Neil Simon does. I enjoyed listening to the plays included in these productions!

    Very good

The weakest of the "Brighton Beach" trilogy - still, it's got heart and a few good lines.

    Bobby Sullivan
I think this might be my favorite of the Eugene Trilogy plays.

    Dave Cotton
Interesting for its autobiographical elements, but not as much fun as Brighton Beach Memoirs.

    3.5 stars.

Is this play really as boring as it seemed? Am I missing something?

Although Neil Simon is my favorite contemporary playwright, I found this play just okay. I liked the characters, but the plot and humor disappointed me. Maybe I'm spoiled by his other plays.

    Jim Cook jr
The best of the trilogy. This and Biloxi both had a huge impact on my life.
