New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jana DeLeon was raised in southwest Louisiana among the bayous and gators Her hometown is Carlyss, but you probably won t find it on a map Her family owned a camp located on a bayou just off the Gulf of Mexico that you could only get there by boat The most important feature was the rope hammock hanging in the shade on a huge deck that stretched out over the water where Jana spent many hours reading books.Jana and her brother spent thousands of hours combing the bayous in a flat bottom aluminum boat, studying the natural habitat of many birds, nutria and alligators She would like you to know that no animals were injured during these studies, but they kept makers of peroxide in business.Jana has never stumbled across a mystery or a ghost like her heroines, but she s still hopeful. She now resides in Dallas, Texas, with the most spoiled Sheltie in the world.

So, this book revisits many of our favorite characters from Mudbug. It is more cozy mystery than romance, I guess that is the new direction of the series. I kind of liked the romance/cozy theme, but I enjoyed this read as well. The fat bashing is top a minimum, although two instances in this story still. I am not sure why we have to make such a big deal about Helena's size. It just isn't key to the story and makes you dislike the characters. I would rather this be an element that is dropped inst [...]

I've read the earlier books in this series and thought they were ok, but I just couldn't get past the flat lack of editing in this one. Story was ok, but seriously distracted by typos and grammatical errors and it just made me crazy. Could've been so much better.

4 STARSI love this series. It is light, fun cozy mystery. The characters I love. The ghost-in-law is Helen. She reminds me of lucy in I love Lucy. Always causing a mess of trouble that makes you laugh. She wears weird outfits, she can't always control. She can't control sometimes if she has mass or not always at the wrong moments. She is always stealing food.Only a few women can see her. Helen used to be rich. Jadyn St. James is the new game warden. She is Maryse's cousin. She has not been to th [...]

I love this series, even the cozy romance aspect. It has suspense, mystery and the relationship between Jadyn and Cole is taking its' time heating up. Maybe for the next book we will get more than steamy kisses. The series also has a ghost and a feel of the bayou that I find fascinating, not to mention characters that have appeared in all the books and who are like family to each other. I admire how Jana Deleon incorporates them in the stories without hitting you over the head with their backsto [...]

Jadyn and Colt continue as the main characters in book 5 of the Ghost-in-law series although the main characters in book 3, Raissa and Zach are the victims in this one and Maryse and Luc are also involved. Raissa is missing, presumed kidnapped and Zach is in a coma from an attach that occurs right outside Mudbug. Since they are FBI agents, the FBI tries to take over the case. Colt and Jadyn find a way to stay involved as the investigation involves the game preserve and several locals. They becom [...]

Another great one with Helena! Great story!

Enjoyable bedtime reading.I enjoy these books. The ghost gives the story a little twist, but doesn't dive headfirst into the paranormal genre.

Same humor more suspenseThis book had a great storyline. It was a little more suspenseful to me because one of the heroines was in real peril. But the story was handled with humor too as Helena never lets us down. Helena the Ghost is the real star.

Helena (the misunderstood ghost) never fails to give me a chuckle but the characters annoyance of her is starting to get "annoying". Give her a cinnamon bun if she wants it

On and off GhostMudbug is becoming the crime capital of the swamp. So much crime, both petty and major. Help where you least expect it and total disaster wherever Helena treads.

the whole series is worth reading. any book that makes you laugh is worth reading in my opinion.

Missing in Mudbug is book five in the Ghost-In-Law series. If you have not read the other books in the series, this is probably not the best book to start with. There is a lot of back story missing from this book. But if you have read the others, I would highly recommend this one. In my opinion it's the best in the series. I really liked it.Once again we are back in the tiny town of Mudbug Louisiana. Our two favorite FBI agents, Raissa and Zach (from Showdown in Mudbug), are in deep trouble. Zac [...]

What can I say other than, I LOVED it!This book, which is the fifth book in the Ghost-In-Law series, is just as much fun as the previous four!We meet a few new characters, who are always charming, and we get to visit our old favorites. It's always nice when you get to visit beloved characters from the past. Then there's Helena who always comes blasting in like an out of control wrecking ball and leaves me rolling on the floor with her antics. The ever growing relationship between Jayden and Colt [...]

This is part of the Ghost-in-law series that takes place in Mudbug, Louisiana. One of the main, and yet oddest, characters is the late Helena, who had been murdered previously. Only a few select people can see her, among them her former daughter-in-law, Maryse. In life, Helena had been hard to get along with; in death, she is definitely one of the odder characters in this story.I've enjoyed reading all of the Ghost-in-law books, and this is no exception. Raissa, FBI agent and friend to Maryse, i [...]

Epub edition. The best book yet. Luc finds Zach in a comma, spent cartridges all around and Raisa is nowhere to be found! Jayden and Colt have to work around the FBI to try to find her fast; there is no doubt that she had been kidnapped and her life is in grave danger. Of course, Maryse has to get involved even with a threat from Luc's job hanging over her, she can not stand doing nothing.I wonder if the next book will continue to focus on Jayden and Colt or if the danger to Maryse will be the f [...]

Being the 5th in the Ghost-in-Law Series, you would think Jana Deleon would have trouble thinking of new comedic situations, but not in Mudbug, Louisiana! I have yet to read anything from Ms. Deleon that wasn't a laugh out loud page turner.Mudbug has a new Game Warden, who happens to be a cousin of Maryse's, and is quickly accepted as one of the family. When a close friend of Maryse's, FBI Agent Raissa Bordeaux comes up missing and Raissa's husband is in a coma, after being hit by a car, all hel [...]

this little town in southern Louisiana grows on me more every time I read a new book about them. This book is full of humor, a crazy non functioning ghost that causes all kinds of mayhem, and intrigueis book catches you at the beginning and never lets up. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering why it happened, when the missing person would be found, why Helena had come back again. Why was Helena eating again. who were the real bad guys. You could probably just pick this one up and [...]

Jana does it again. Once more we travel to Mudbug Louisiana and intrigue, mystery and lots of humor. Jana's law enforcement research shows and she wraps you in her story, if she made an amusement park out of Mudbug I would go! So much happens in one town, in its swamps and bayous, all the time you are traveling through the story your thinking, but the answer is a surprise. an FBI agent is wounded and in the hospital, his wife and fellow agent is missing, as the mystery unfolds it twists and turn [...]

Have you read Jana DeLeon's Mudbug series yet? If not, why not? They are fast, funny and fabulous!Missing in Mudbug is the latest in the series, and it continues the adventures (and desperately ignored sexual attraction) of Jadyn and Colt as they search for the missing Raissa. Although they keep it completely professional, the whole town can see these two have the hots for each other. But that's on the backburner as the Mudbug gang of Luc, Maryse, Mildred, Helena and the usual delightful cast of [...]

I was so happy to discover this book because I didn't know that Jana Deleon had continued this series. I also made the error of reading this book before book #4, so it was almost like reading an entirely new series as I tried to suss out who Jadyn was, and remember details about the other characters. With Jadyn as game warden, much of the mystery is set in the bayou, which lends to the sense of danger and the unknowable. It's amazing how much more trouble you can be in when you don't have cell p [...]

Game warden Jadyn St. James and Sheriff Colt Bertrand join forces to find missing FBI agent Raissa Bordeaux. When a carjacking turns in to a kidnapping Colt and Jadyn need to learn if its Raissa's job or something else that caused Luke to be injured and Raissa to be taken. Why is the lead FBI agent keeping the locals out of the investigation, when they could help guide them through the swamps. As Jadyn and Colt attraction steams up. You have laugh out loud moments and giggles through the story a [...]

This was a fast read. Funny, Romance, little bit of sex, suspense, someone is in trouble in each book and who will save them?? will it be Helena or a nice handsome man . . mmm. . . This series was a lot of fun to read. A lot of suspense, comedy, action packed romance. Some sex all around great series. A lot happening in each book. **Must read this series in order and the following series that I recommend in order as well: =====Would also recommend: "Body Mover" Series by Stephanie Bond"Stephanie [...]

Missing in Mudbug is the latest installment from Jana Deleon. This time one of their own is missing and her husband has been hospitalized with a head injury. It's up to Jayden and Colt along with the rest of the crew to try to stay out of the FBI's way while investigating the kidnapping. What would make someone try to kill one agent and kidnap another? Things get really crazy when Helena tries to help. You'll be shocked at who the villain is in this one. Now I'm ready for the next one. It comes [...]

The series is enjoyable and funny. The author's writing has improved with practice, but some of the books really show the absence of a good editor (of course, so do many books from established publishers these days). This was more mystery and less romance than earlier books in the series. One thing that bothers me is that the living characters seem to blame the ghost for things that they should be more responsible about. In this book, that includes careless use of firearms. Also, Helena seems to [...]

Love, love this series! By the end of the book I'm wanting to know when the next one is coming out! Funny (gotta be with a mother-in-law ghost); good fun read with twists that keep you from putting it down. Characters are very real and believable as are the situations they find themselves in! I recommend this series to anyone looking for a good laugh and mystery with a little romance thrown in!

yet another unputdownable winner! I love this series and all the characters feel like family now, I do feel that there is less of Helenas antics as the each book comes along, the mysteries get more involved and Helena seems to be an addition. I loved it at the beginning when there was more madcap hilarity from her, don't get me wrong I love these books and can't wait to read the next one but I just need more Helena!!

This is fifth book in the Mudbug series. It had all the characters you hope to read about but each book brings new lead characters. A fun twist at the end made reading even more interesting. Like Ms. DeLeon's Sinful, LA series, I look forward to the next book. This is a fun, light read. Open to the first page and be ready to smile!

Another delightful instalment from the Ghost in Law Series. This one started a little slow, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. It's amazing how much madness and mayhem occurs in such a tiny little town--but keep it up, Ms. DeLeonI love it! Can't wait for the next book to come out. could you please write a little faster?
