    I had to force myself to finish this one. It started off so well, almost like an old 1950s PI show. Things started to go downhill when the city's name changed from Dale City to Daly City and characters' name were mixed up. The lack of quotation marks was also very confusing. I also thought there would be more detective work since the front of the book says it's a murder mystery and the main character is a journalist. Spoilers: He didn't do a lot of digging.     What a fun read-great for the beach or a lonely Saturday night. Lots of women ,sex, gambling, thugs, and intrigue. A very fast paced novella that will keep you reading until you are finished regardless of the time of day. Tracer, a down and out newspaperman, is an interesting character with plenty of flaws, but he sure can attract some wild women; all of whom I'd love to meet myself-not that I'd get involved, I'd just like to look.     RECEIVED BOOK FREE THROUGH FIRST READS.I enjoyed this little book. It's not very long, but it's a good read. The twist and turns are many and each time you think you've figured it outNOT!! Mr. Reuther keeps you guessing.I would say, read it.

    I won a copy of Gambling Lives on . It was a quick entertaining read. This is also my first time reading author Mike Reuther. Although the writing style and use of grammar and lack of quotations was a bit hard to deal with at times,the book was ok.
