I was given an ARC of this book after it had gone through three passes of proof reading, but it has yet to go through a professional editor to be tightened up. Let me make it clear… you can NOT tell it hasn’t been through the final editing process. Due for release on 6 December 2013, I couldn’t wait that long to share my thoughts on a great opening book to what promises to be a compelling series. Not an overly long book, The Northern Gate immediately pulls you in so fast, you HAVE to keep r [...]

I was given an ARC of this book from the author and couldn't wait to start reading it. It's coming out on 6th of December 2013, so you keep an eye for the first book of what promises to be a fantastic series.I'll try not to spill the beans and spoil it for you. This is a book that grabs you from the first page and doesn't let you put it away till the end. And even then you want more. It has one of the most powerful and engaging starting of a book I've ever read! It's got me hooked from there. You [...]

Fantasy is one of my favourite genres and when I knew my good friend, and fellow author was releasing her first novel I had to get my hands on it. This was after all type of books I loved to read.JC Clark knows how to captivate a reader from page one, and throughout the novel and had so many questions playing out in my head; all of which were answered with the kind of satisfaction you get from listening to your favourite song.Tabitha is the main character in the story, and thinks she is as ordin [...]

I found myself not wanting to put this book down! To me it was a very fast read and highly enjoyable. The way that she developed the main characters was really good. There was a mixture of emotions, ranging from happy to sad.Nathan one of the characters is a very mysterious man. He is trying to fulfill destiny and complete the path that fate has laid out for him. He cant do that without the help of Tabitha. Tabitha is his soul mate, his better half. They are destined to be together from the begi [...]

Original review posted on Lily Loves Indie as part of a blog tour and an ARC copy was received - lilylovesindie/?p=281I said it to start this review, but seriously, it needs saying again, this is quite simply, one of THE best books I have read this year (and that statement packs a punch given there are only 3 days left in this year!) and it really isn’t an overstatement, promise! I’ll have to ask you to bear with me as I will probably waffle slightly as I gush with merriment at how wonderful [...]

*DISCLOSURE: I did the primary edits for this novel; therefore my opinion may be considered biased.*The prisoner; the wandering man; Natanael; Nathan . . . all one in the same.Prepare to be taken on an adventure that begins in a small, rural village where everyday things like bicycling and ballet classes are commonplace and ends in a new world, that is to say, another dimension. Clarke is putting a refreshing spin on the age old tale of creation and you aren’t going to want to miss out!Picture [...]

I am completely in love with this book! The cover is what truly caught me.I love the tree and the crescent's just incredible. This is the third book I read by J.C. Clarke and I absolutely loved it. I meanI loved it enough to go stalk the author for the next book, so that says something, right? The Northern Gate is the story of Tabitha getting her wings. She's an ordinary girl living in an ordinary village.or so she thinks. As her Nana is passing from one world to the next, Tabitha finds herself e [...]

This was a well written story. It held my attention from beginning to end. When I say that, I mean it had me wanting to follow the Nathan and Tabitha's journey.Tabitha is just a teenager going through life one day at a time. All the while she is worrying about her grandmother and looking for a happiness, which she finds through dancing. A stranger walks into her life though and could change everything. Can Tabitha handle everyrhing in her life? Nathan us a guy who is only looking after a girl be [...]

This is a book I HIGHLY recommend for anyone. It has a little of everything. Love, fantasy, suspension. (TONS of it) Clarke is able to take and maintain the readers attention from page 1 all the way till the last. This IS A CLIFFHANGER. So reader beware.

I was quiet excited about going into this book. I've been reading the same kind of books lately and wanted a change. This book was a fantastic change for me. I loved every second of it. The characters are well developed and I connected with them straight away. Even the secondary characters are easy to connect with and there's quite a few of them. The storyline was gripping and I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened. Tabitha is a normal teenage girl, she loves music, dance and to hang [...]
