The only bad thing I can say about this book is the many spelling mistakes in it. The editor didn't do a very good job.It is a very informative guide that has the power to inspire you. I'm not a teacher yet but I decided to buy it after my mother's suggestion. I read it in one day - that never happens with me. In was great to hear all the Voices of Experience!I really enjoyed how it was a mix of quotes and narration. It was really refreshing to see other teachers go through similar situations. I [...]

I read this book hoping that it might have some good ideas that I could apply in my classroom. But it is mostly an overview of what to expect and things you might not have realized go into a school year. So this book would be great for a first year teacher. I know that I was caught off guard my first month of school of what was needed from me and what I was expected to know. So this book would have been great back in college or student teaching. Nothing new if you have been teaching for a few ye [...]

Like most books it has happy points and gut-wrenching points if you are a new teacher. It's really helpful and not meant to be a quick read. Stash it in your desk at work whenever you need a pick-me-up after a long day teaching. You can get a lot out of it and the "Voices of Experience" drop excellent tidbits of advice for your classroom, how to handle admin, parents and students along with continuing to develop your craft.

I read this book a few months into my first teaching placement and felt it would have been better if I read it before day one of my job. It had good, sometimes humorous and inspirational, advice, but nothing groundbreaking. Definitely worth the price, though (I got it as a 99 cent Ebook). My favorite parts were the websites and resources they give you. It is fairly up to date, too.

Reading this book a month before I start teaching was amazing and exactly as it was designed. It's his to remember that I don't have to know everything just yet and that it will get a bit easier soon.

This was a kindle freebie that I downloaded before starting to student teach. Each chapter is on a different aspect of teaching, with quoted advice from teachers around the United State. Some helpful suggestions.

This book gave some good teacher tips and hints. Enjoyed hearing from other teachers.
