Hive, enter stage left Lorna and Seth, newcomers, Lorna is a suburban grandmother and Seth is well, Seth is Seth. Set Lorna, Seth, Lorna's granddaughters and a stray teenage girl against a post apocalyptic scene and I dare you to not make the choices Lorna makes, the same choices that she is beating herself up for at the end of the book. Enter stage right. The Hive, the womb a place an entity which is set up to save the most precious commodity earth has, its animals. The Hive as we know it is wh [...]

This is the fourth book in the Species Intervention series. I still cannot say that I enjoy this series, as it is so dark, but it sure has me hooked! I do love it though!Abby, Scotty, Jose, Echo and Chloe, along with Captain Cobby and his son, Kane, Peter, Ginger Mae, her daughter Daisy and Kenya are thrown together in a race against time to get to the Hive before the terrorists strike. Along the way they meet Johno and the herd of elephants he is transporting to The Bronx Zoo.As the first bomb [...]

I have to say this book did get on my nerves more than the others which I loved, hence the different stars, it was still very good but I think there was just too much going on again. I think the loran and Seth storyline really annoyed me. Why is it women in the middle of a disaster pick up a man near the site of a murder and never seem to connect the dots. It's a bit like films where people insist on going outside and get shocked when they get killed!! Also their journey seemed to take months wh [...]

This is the fourth book in the series and my absolute favorite!! There is so much emotions and conflict it gets you involved. It got me to thinking on how i would handle these certain situations and how i would handle it, and it also got me to thinking how much this really is true! This book is a continuation of the stories were something in the world is going to happen and all Abby knows is that she is on a mission to help save the precious animals. But in all these she has to learn who she can [...]

Once again here is another book to add to my favorite list. I am completely loving this series and can't wait for the next book. The plot runs smoothly and I have fallen in love with the characters. I'd love to see this series made into a movie.Abby is strong willed and focuses on her goals no matter what is going on around her. Her love for animals is also a plus. This made me grow fond of her. The tension begins in the beginning of the story had me hooked and I couldn't stop reading. The only p [...]

The continuity of these books is superb. All of the characters from the previous books are in this one. The treatment of bringing those characters into this story keeps you glued and interested in the whole series. You'll be captivated by every single world. The story is so compellingly told that you're going to want for the aliens to destroy the whole human race. Only a gifted author can invoke such thoughts, emotional, and passion. Read this book. It's worth the time.

Another great chapterThis continuing saga keeps pace with the first three books. As good as the first three were book four is just as good. Just got book five and will report on it when I finish (it won't be long).

I finished the third book in the Species Intervention series a week ago, and because of the way it ended with so many questions still left unanswered, I couldn’t wait to start on Hive – which picks up exactly where Armageddon Cometh left off. Again, this was another instalment in the series which ended with a whole batch of new questions and mysteries, which will hopefully be addressed in the fifth book, The One.“Are you alright, Peter?”“No, Abby, I’m not alright. My girlfriend is a [...]

Fourth book in the Alien Species Intervention #6609, which spans a couple of centuries from the early 20th century into a vividly-imagined and traumatic future. In this book, the world faces annihilation as nuclear war wreaks near-total destruction. Humans are no longer the dominant species, and survival is the only game in town. We follow the frantic rush to reach the Hive on the part of Lorna and her grandchildren, and escape from Seth's clutches. There are violent, searing scenes in the story [...]

I received this book to give an honest review.First let me say I LOVE this cover! I love elephants they are one of my favorite creatures, and the way this cover is drawn just makes me get all giddy inside. Now that aside let me get on with my review.I honestly believe that J.K. Accinni could be a bestselling author! The way she can weave a story and tell it is just stupendous.I have not been disappointed with her books at all and after reading the Hive I am so wanting more. I want to know who th [...]

Again, we delve into Hive straight out of AC (Armageddon Cometh.) Loved that the Author wrote it this way for us.I can say that AC and Hive are my favs! That says a lot because Baby and Echo just weren't cutting it for me. The Authors story telling is getting better as the series grows deeper. Her writing is finally picking up the pace and had me reading through this book at 100 mph. Can't wait for that next one! It has definitely piqued my interest!May contain some spoilers, readers read at you [...]

In Hive it becomes finally clear why the series is called Species Intervention #6609. The human race is so depraved that in the past the Womb has intervened through creatures like Baby and Echo – and not just once but 6609 times, showing that humanity doesn’t learn and is destined to fail. This is the dystopian element: the fact that Homo Sapiens destroys all life forms and Earth itself and therefore does not deserve to survive. The real chosen ones are the innocent animals, the human life t [...]

Okay I just finished the first 4 parts of the Species Intervention books and I must say I agree with some of the reviews, the introduction of some of the new characters is a bit much. I am truly disappointed with what happened to Suzie wont give anything away for that of spoiling the book for readers, but I found that some of the events that happened were just filler, that took away from what the book was really about. I love the characters of Nelly, Baby, Wil, Abby, Jose and Scotty and even a fe [...]

I can't say that I have ever read a series so quickly, but I was given the series and I gobbled them up. Like the other 3 books (Baby, Echo, Armageddon Cometh) Hive is certainly no different. You can taste the talent J.K. has because she simply makes the books flow, one to another and in such a sense that you will be forever reveling in a world of what if and is it really happening in that sense? I am NOT one to read sci-fi or paranormal things in this nature, but something drew me to what she h [...]

I don't know where the author got her ideas for this story. She has a vivid imagination. Everything was perfect. I loved the characters. I loved the plot. I sat down and read this book in a few hours. I just could not pull away. So fastanating the way Netty, Wil and Baby make an appearance. So many secrets. So much to learn. The Hive sounds like it would be an awesome place to stay. So many awful things were happening outside the Womb. When The guy named, Seth came along. I thought finally someo [...]

A mind blowing apocalyptic thrillerJ Kelly Accinni packs a powerful message into her books which make you question the point of humanity. In many ways, I have to agree: homo sapiens really do not deserve this planet! I can barely watch the news without being disgusted by some of the depravities carried out by our species; the sadistic pleasure some derive from hurting the most innocent. This is a book which stays with you, it is so utterly compelling and thought provoking. In the aftermath of a [...]

ApocalypseThis books moves very quickly as the Earth is destroyed by the greed of politicians world wide. It's clear we DO NOT deserve this planet as the author's timely and perceptive conclusions indicate.Having met Caesar the great tiger that guards Scotty and his girlfriend who is recovering from a wild blind side, I am prepared for ANYTHING to happen.Netty moved to the forefront as she explains the rules in the magical Hive. I love the nostalgic possessions from her farm, ties the books all [...]

Hive is the fourth book in the Species Intervention #6609 series. I received an electronic copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. As with the other books in the series, Hive takes up where the previous book ends. The group of people and wild animals are traveling from Florida to New Jersey, seeking refuge from the imminent apocalypse. Just before they reach New York City, word comes of the first bombing in Las Vegas. It all goes downhill from there. The group makes it [...]

OMG I need book 5!!! I can’t wait until tomorrow! This book, if possible, drags you in further. You actually feel the tension, the emotions are all over the place. I think my heart stopped in one or two places reading this. The journey continues with Abby, Jose & Scotty, as well as a few others they gather along the way. Including animals! Netty, Wil & Baby reappear in this book as more than a fleeting visit. At some point during this book I realised that the story switches from 1st perso [...]

What a fast-passed book! The trials of getting the animals they rescued to the shelter and saving the ones at the Bronx zoo has you on the edge of your seat. So many little things go wrong. The tension among the friends is palpable. Jose is having feelings of jealousy as the relationship between Abby and Captain Cody blossomed into one of mutual trust and support, his past has thrown him for a loop, Scotty's girlfriend is in shock, Peter is lost in an emotional pit. Worry all the animals are goi [...]

Book 4 already in the series, and Earth is changing faster than people expected. The book picks up right where book 3 ended, so it's easy to read the books one after another. Would have been a pity to have to wait for the continuation, but luckily there are already 5 books published! The atmosphere in the book changes a lot from inside the rescue place Baby and Echo showed the humans and animals, and the outside where the rest of the people are trying to survive. The pictures from outside are pro [...]

I received this book from the author for an honest review.Again the author weaves an amazing story that takes us deeper into the world of Echo and Baby two creatures whose golden fur and tails have changed the lives of so many around them including mine! With the world as we know on the brink of destruction the story starts off where Book 3 Armageddon Cometh ends on a boat full of animals being taken to a cargo plane headed north. Wow the excitement doesn't stop as time runs out and we find ever [...]

Hive is the fourth book in the species intervention series and this one throws together some characters we have previously been introduced to and loved along the way. In line with the other books, this also has a dark side, which depicts a lot of brutality and scenes that are not suitable for younger readers. The plot includes scenes of sexual abuse and I felt intense sympathy for the character Suzy in particular. You will understand why when you get into the thick of this book. After the destru [...]

The intensity of Accinni's "Species Intervention" series has reached a crescendo in "Hive." Book Four delivers the author's amazing story-telling again with startling surprises, mind-boggling twists and turns and an eagerness in this reader to keep going (evidenced by my reading of Echo, Armageddon and now Hive in the past 5 days).SPOILERSMany answers have been revealed including a revival (choice of words intended) of Netty, Baby and Wil. The "6609" number finally makes sense, too, which is goo [...]

The world has been devastated and our survivors found a place to ride out the bombs thanks to Netty and the Aliens. I guess we should thank the Womb too.The world aboveground is a cesspool of violence and lawless behavior. Lorn and her grandchildren are trying to get to the Hive where she had been promised safety because her hubby was one of the truck drivers that help saved the rescued wildlife. And what a remarkable place the Hive is.This book moves very fast, excitement around every corner. I [...]

Hive is the fourth book in the Species Intervention Series. In this book we pick up right were we left off. Abby, Jose, Scotty, Echo and the gang are on a race against time to get to the hive before the world is destroyed by terrorist. Along the way we meet Johno and his heard of elephants headed to the Bronx Zoo who wind up heading to the hive as well. Will they be able to co exist in the Womb for a century? Meanwhile we meet a woman and her grandchildren who are trying to brave this new and sc [...]

Having read the first three books in the series I was happy to find this continuing story. As survivors quake in their boots, with the bombs dropping overhead, and the wildlife (bears, lions, tigers etc) scaring the crap out of them, Netty appears to finish off the job. What an interesting collection of characters in this story. All different personalities, well defined and engaging. Even the animals. The story is a roller coaster of emotions. I understand now what really happened to Netty, Baby, a [...]

"Hive" by J.K. Accinni was a powerful and exhausting read.It follows a group of humans and animals as they run for safety before disaster strikes earth The place of safety is the Hive, helping and nurturing them is the womb, an entity out to save animals and not the humans who are causing the other species on the planet pain and extinction. With the womb having a god like function in the book and with the author taking a strong environmentalist view this is a potentially controversial read. Howe [...]
