    I loved reading Ruby!!

With this book, I have read all four volumes of Ruby's diaries about her personal life during World War II. I began with Volume 2 almost three years ago. I enjoyed picking up the books to spend some time with Ruby, and then setting them down to do something else. Ruby bares her soul to her diary in the same way any woman might do to a trusted friend. She isn't always pleasant or admirable, but she probably said what most women thought and were unable to express at the time. I felt as if I were h [...]

If you want a glimpse into what everyday life was like for those living in London during WWII, this series of books will satisfy your curiosity. I read a few reviews that said that the diaries get repetitive, but you do have to consider that you're reading a woman's diary, so she's going to tend to write about the same things. It's amazing to see what people lived through during those years. I loved it! Now I want to know what happens to Ruby after the war

As with the previous volumes, I loved this book. While I do not agree with some of Ruby's thoughts, I love her bold and honest expressions of her feelings. What an insight into the horrors of war. Anyone interested in the homefront of WWII should read this book.
