This book just made me mad. I tried really hard to get on board and like it but no. It's not for me. It's not you, book, it's me. Except it's not.The story is so goddamn contradictory and annoying that I have thirteen pages worth of highlights. Thirteen. Not to illustrate anything other than why this books fails me. Sigh.Junco has to go through a "fledge" that is really just a hunger games for avians. Without the extra oomph that the capital made Katniss go through, and all for shock value. Ther [...]

Even better than Clutch! I absolutely love Junco!

A huge improvement for me from book 1. I was much less lost and really got into the story more this time. The brutality that you definitely saw in Clutch comes out super strong in Fledge and I love books that go there. The characters are still a little confusing for me, in that I get confused about who is who because there are so many! But a vast improvement there, too. I continue to love Junco. I was sad that Teir was mostly missing from this book, but his absence was made up for with tons of n [...]

I reviewed Clutch, Fledge, and Flight for the I Am Just Junco blog tour by Bewitching Blog Tours so this review pretty much covers all three books. This science fiction series by author J.A. Huss totally took me by surprise. "Just Junco" turns out to be a foul-mouthed super badass heroine and the series totally kicks ass.In the first pages of book one we are introduced right away to Junco, our heroine who is by no means a girly-girl. She's the type who knows all her weapons and firearms, would pr [...]

Original reviewed on: futuresunsAMAZING!ABSOLUTELY ASS-WHOOPING AMAZING!I received this book as a gift from Alexia Purdy (author of Reign of Blood, she is awesome!) and read it in 3 hours. I could not put it down and could not go away for two seconds without reading another word. It was absolutely AMAZING! I am speechless. In book 2 of I Am Just Junco series, the story goes on exactly where it left off in book 1. Now Tier (OMG hot Tier) is on a trial for treason because he did not follow his ord [...]

this book was even better than the first book because the confusing memories of Junco were sorted out. but this series is really heavy and very disturbing sometimes I get the feeling that I really live in the story with Junco and have to confess although it is good, I need some space so that I can relax againbut here some of my opinions on this bookthe story was good, altough it is very bloodthirsty and dark and if you don't like to read about too much action and killing people maybe you shoul [...]

5 KICK ASS STARS!!"Trust no one, Junco. Show no weakness"I CAN'T STOP. I CAN NOT STOP READING!My eyes feel like their bleeding. I'm sucked into a rabbit hole of amazing-ness!This part of Junco's story takes place on the planet of the Avians. She is ordered to trust no one, how is that even possible? Everyone around her seems to genuinely want to help her. I was damned confused, I felt like I was in Junco's shoes. I was screaming: No don't tell him that, no keep it a secret. But just Junco learns [...]

This story was utterly suffocating: too many new characters, too many men utterly adoring the rather hostile and not so lovable main female, too much blood and gore, too much going on without really showing, in a believable way, how the character got there. It is one of those stories where the entire plot hangs on the fact that the main character is just SO SPECIAL, like Twilight, and yet nothing you read explains why the character is the least bit special. I actually, after two books, don't car [...]

Holy crap on a cracker was all that fighting intense. I would dub this book:save yo ass. This book was action packed. I can't believe Junco is still walking around upright after 7 levels of fights. After reading all of it, I'm exhausted. She's truly a badass mofo. I was on an emotional rollercoaster and there are a couple of sad parts, but there's always a reason. Plot twists, plot twists, that's one of the many awesome things why JA does it for me.

Wow this series keeps getting more involved, more interestingcks you right in. It's a good mix of dystopia, Sci Fi, fantasylots of great world building and good characters. There's lots of blunt talk, blood and gore so if that's not your cup of tea- steer clear, otherwise dive right in (book one of course).

Wow, Fledge is 100% Emotional turmoil! I am so hooked on this series. I was up until 4 am this time reading this, I just had to finish, had to know what happened. It was such an emotional ride, I had tears in my eyes. Wow, just so good.Junco is now an avian, which is a winged "alien" and she's living on a habitat out in the Band -somewhere off earth, I am not sure much on this, its not really explained. Junco in her new avian body meets Lucan, her new commander. Lucan has decided that Junco is n [...]

Also very engaging and fun to read, but frustrating as a reader because of what seems to be unnecessary drama going on. Trust nobody! But then she trusts people - and it's all ok? And she wants answers now! But then when people try to tell her answers, she's not interested in talking about it. And then she's betrayed that they didn't tell her. Overall, it was still enjoyable, but had a lot of unnecessary complications and overly dramatic stuff going on.

originally posted on The Book Tart at thebooktart/book-review/thFledge is the second book in the I Am Just Junco series science fiction series. I suspected when I read Clutch that these books could become some of my favs and they have. I am completely hooked on this series. I love the world building and the characters. I especially love Junco. These books are told in her voice. And what a voice it is. She’s a smart ass with a dirty mouth and more heart and determination than one body should be [...]

My Review:Wow, Wow, WOWis book ROCKED! OMG, it was so good. Honestly, I'm debating between an A and an A+ rating on this one. I think I will go with an A, but that is only because there were certain parts of the books especially the battle scenes which I found to be too closely reminiscent of the Hunger Games battle scenescially the tubes. BUT you all know that I adored the Hunger Games, so that's not necessarily a bad thing. But back to this book. Did I say WOW?? There is so much creativity to [...]

So many thoughts, I really don't know what to say other than the plot was fantastic!Full review coming soon.Full review: Wow, um I don't really know where to start this review; I had a lot of thoughts when I finished this book. In summary I loved this book. It was so much better then the first, the plot was amazing, the writing was great, and the characters felt so much more real than in the first one. However, some of the minor problems in the first book also carried into this book. The plot bl [...]

What to say about Fledge other than 100% emotional turmoil. I’ve read all three books and it’s clear this series is a series. So if you’re not into that, don’t bother starting it. You will not get all your questions answered in one or two books. This is the point of a series I think? This book builds the mythology, the history, and the purpose of the Seven Siblings. It also teaches Junco a lesson in culture that she probably was not prepared to learn. It sets up the third book which conti [...]

"Trust no one, Junco. Show no weakness."I agree that Junco cannot be held to a specific genre. This one did feel more sci-fi, but she has an urban fantasy feel to her character and there is a distinctive dystopian setting to Fledge. The GoodJunco is such a wonderful character, and not because she's perfect because she often tells everyone they think she's something that she's not. She knows her flaws, her weaknesses, her strengths, and she works with all of them as well as she is able. This story [...]

Fledge is the second book in the I Am Just Junco series. I have to say, I like Clutch--the first book in this series; however, out of the two, I like Fledge the best. In my personal opinion, I think that's a good thing because each book should be better than the first one. My husband Kevin always says when a person is hard on the outside, they’re soft in the inside (sounds like a Tootsie Pop). I don’t know if that holds true with every individual, but with Junco (the main character) it does. [...]

Me, while reading today (March 18th)**checks time** "okay, it's 11:30I'll read just a bit more and then I'll stop for lunch" **checks time again** "oh great! It's 1:45!!??! Well, no lunch for me - have to pick up kids now!" And I don't have Lucan's special transportation talent as an excuse for losing time! I just got lost in Junco! :)Holy s#it! The action and suspense just got dialed up a few notches in this second installment! Junco is now fully morphed and fully immersed in the avian world. H [...]

Another amazing storyline filled with twists, turns, action, reactions, shock and devastation. Junco is one tough chick. She doesn’t take crap from anyone! I thoroughly enjoyed this second installment from the ‘I am Just Junco’ series.Taking place a couple months after the first book, Junco has completed the morph into an Avian warrior, wings and all, and must now go through the General Fledge in the Avian City of Amelia, where fighters and the unworthy kill each other off gladiator style [...]

This being the second book in the series means you probably don't want to read this review if you haven't read book #1 in the series, Clutch.Junco Coot left Earth with Tier, the Avian soldier who had come to save her. Apparently Junco wasn't the all around human she thought she was. Turns out she was human, Avian, and part AI as well. But for her to survive she needed to morph before her 20th birthday, something all Avians must go through.Tier returns to Amelia, the space station the Avians live [...]

The first book in this series, Clutch, was fun and exciting with some emotional turmoil at the end when Junco is trying to remember who she is and how she came to be so messed up. This second book is utterly heartbreaking. I'm honestly not sure how I can possibly love a story that has so much death in it. From the very first page the action build and builds and just when you think it cannot possibly be built to a higher climax, it manages to surprise you. Junco is now an avian - which is a winge [...]

J.A. Huss's I Am Just Junco series continues in a pounding sequel. The storyline is cleaner and it's easier to envision this futuristic world Junco was born into. Fledge expands Junco's character and her world, and the story's plot digs itself deeper into readers' minds.Junco is now on the Avian planet Amelia and she is now an Avian herself. While Tier is on trial for treason, she struggles to find a place in her new life. She becomes acquainted with friends of Tier's. Her easy camaraderie with [...]

Very rarely is a second book in a series as good as or even better than the first. This book was amazing! Met all of my expectations and more! The second book starts out with Junco emerging from her morph into an avian. Although, as usual, trouble was brewing during her change; Tier is on trial for treason, Junco is disliked for her supposed role in the situation, and she happens to be on an alien planet. I loved the addition of the new characters, the Aves 039 boys! Lucky Junco, where can I get [...]

FledgeI am Just Junco Dot Com Book TwoBy J.A. HussJunco Coot has just made her way to Amelia the avian capital city where she must undergo the Fledge ritual. Fledge is where she will fight to the death in order to become a citizen. All the while the love of her life and the one who brought her to Amelia, Tier, is on trial for treason for letting her live, and if found guilty it is an automatic death sentence. When I first started reading this book I was completely lost, I haven’t read book one [...]

Holy crap sausages. Get ready for a ride. This is the 2nd book in the Junco series, a complicated but addicting story about a girl (among many other things) whose reality is basically given to her in bits and pieces, along with tons of lies, loss, and betrayal. In this book, Junco, who has survived more than any Hollywood action hero could even begin to imagine, starts on an insane test of sorts. In short, without spoilers, she has to survive, and that means taking out a lot of people in order to [...]

In Fledge, Junco happens to make the transition into an avian we had touched on from reading toward the end of Clutch. She has overall a great avian form. The problem now is that Tier is seen as an avian traitor in his world and she is slpit apart from him. The only way to save him from death because of his treason is to fight in some battles to the death that almost mirror The Hunger Games.Fledge really becomes even more bloody ad full of action than thought the I AM JUST JUNCO series could get [...]

This was an amazing sequel to Clutch. There was so much action, and there were tons of fighting scenes. I flew through this book, and I can't wait to start the next one. Junco grows a lot in this book. She's trying to save Tier, but she's also trying to stay alive in the fledge fighting competitions. It was hard to watch her form bonds with people when she didn't know if they would survive it. Also, she finds out some really crazy things about her own body, and it definitely makes things inter [...]
