What is it with all the "1.5" books?! Seriously! Is it a requirement now for series?

Is it just me who thinks this cover is creepy and staring at the girl's face makes you feel weird? o.O

I love books that mash mythology with modern and I've had my eye on the Goddess Test series for a while. So, when this novella was available for free, I grabbed it up a few years back. Yeah took my time, but I got to it eventually, right? So, the events of this novella take place after the first book. The heroine, Kate, is on a six-month holiday in Greece with James (aka Hermes) before she takes up her place next to Henry (aka Hades) on the god's council. They encounter Castor and Pollux and Kate [...]

I love how this novella alternates POV between Kate and Henry, we finally get to see a glimpse at his views on his relationship with Kate. I also love the relationship between the two brothers, I don't think they should be punished for simply wanting to be together. I also love how they seem to be the opposite of each other, Casey immediatly trust Kate where Lux doesn't. I loved how this end with Henry let them go because he valued his relationship with Kate more than catching them.

In 'The Goddess Hunt' this book tells us what happens during James and Kate's trip to Greece. I love how action packed this book was and also how strong Kate was. She stood up to Zeus (spoiler alert for those who didn't read this yet!) and she also focused on what she believed is right. She didn't waver or give into Zeus's threats, and her feelings for Henry also didn't waver. She knew she had a choice if she ever wanted to back out being The Queen of Underworld, but she stood her ground. The in [...]

Mon avis en FrançaisMy English reviewI really liked the first novel and the short story we discover here is placed between the first and the second volume of the series. We had not had the opportunity to see Kate far from Henry and it was a pleasure to discover that here.Kate is therefore with James on the way to Athens but they stop so she can be presented to Pollux and Castor, two persons on the run, trying to hide from the gods. But of course, as soon as they meet, Henry and Walter, who were [...]

Just read this novella for the first time and it's sweet. It adds to Kate's character and puts her in more of a stronger light. She won't take shit from Walter (Zeus) and I loved it. Short, sweet, and adds more spunk to Kate.

The Goddess Hunt Review on K-BooksWow, Aimee has done it again and blown me away with her amazing storytelling. I absolutely loved The Goddess Test which I read early last year after getting it for review from Netgalley and it still sticks with me as one of the best Greek Mythology retellings. I love the perspective Aimee takes and how you see a nice, loving side to Hades, something I would never have thought of before reading this series. Add that to the fact that I adore mythology, specificall [...]

I wasn't very impressed with this. I read it because I'm generally a huge fan of anything related to Greek Mythology, but this story was stupid. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because it had some potential. *edit* I changed my mind, it doesn't even deserve that.Spoiler alertSo basically the main character, Kate, is Persephone. Only she isn't because Persephone gave up her immortality and is now chilling in the Underworld (I have no intentions of reading further in this series, but I [...]

I was looking to see if I NEEDED to read this series, and what better way than to try a novella that is #1.5 in the line up! I found characters that were serious, quirky, genuinely caring, clueless and just plain entertaining!I found a plot, that while a novella told me what I needed to know! Filled with some danger, some humor, some brotherly love and great dialogue, The Goddess Hunt by author Aimee Carter looks to be a lighter paranormal series with some great ideas, characters and just enough [...]

Chao.

I saw this book in the e-library and remembering reading the first book, so I checked it out.I forgot how BAD this series is. (I didn't remember hating the first book as much.) The writing is amazingly bad. The dialogue is so bad you want to read it out loud and laugh at it. The plot, everything is ridiculous. Fight scenes out of nowhere, out of character gods. Just stupidity. So this wins one of my worst books spots.Don't waste your time or braincells.

Just remembered that I've read ( skimmed ) this book.

See this review and more on The Moonlight Library! When Kate elects to spend her first six months away from her new husband henry travelling Greece with James, she runs across two rogue demi-gods, Castor and Pollux, and elects to help them escape capture after a thousand ears on the run.The Goddess Hunt is not aptly named – it’s not about anyone hunting Kate, but about the hunt for the two demi-gods, twin brothers Castor and Pollux. According the legend, one of them is immortal and one mortal [...]

**Warning: Spoilers ahead if you have not yet read The Goddess Test!**This takes place immediately after the events in The Goddess Test (book 1). Kate and James are off to Greece to begin Kate's six month sabbatical from Henry. Them going together sort of bother's me a bit with James' known interest in her. And she JUST got married to Henry! Why couldn't it have been Ava that went with her or something? Anyways my initial thoughts were Greece is a great choice place. it would give her the opport [...]

I really love this series, but I feel like I'm starting to see the holes in Aimee Carter's "debut writing". I just don't see the progression of her writing. I feel as if there is a depth that is lacking that should be starting to emerge. The character's motives seem to change a lot between the books. I think that the first two books (The Goddess Test and this one), you can seem who Henry is as a character, but in Goddess Interrupted, it is completely different. I'm not sure why so much change is [...]

Daar aangekomen ontde [...]

As seen on Ed and Em's Reviews!4/5 Stars!I liked reading from Henry's point-of-view. I wish there was a book all about him. He brings a different perspective to the goings-on within the books. I hope that Ms. Carter brings more of his thoughts into the next book. His ideas and thoughts about everything that was happening were very interesting to read. I enjoyed it.And while I enjoyed this, Kate still gives me trouble. Kate is a fiesty, interesting girl, but she's not my favorite heroine. Her mat [...]

I loved Castor and Pollux. I found them to be really sweet brothers.I love that Henry let Castor go so that he didn't damage his relationship with Kate.I'm really starting to not like 'Zeus'. I find him to be an asshole.I'm also not currently liking any of the other gods. I'm starting to question if I'll like the other books now. :/

MAJOR spoilers for The Goddess Test***After (barely) passing the tests to gain Immortality, Kate, who is now married to Henry, must leave Eden for six months as a promise to her mother. She decides to go on a trip to Greece and takes her friend James with her, who is really one of the Gods, Hermes. A cute novella giving us a glimpse into how Kate spent her summer away from Henry and the Underworld and showing us another side to the goody-two-shoes Gods and Goddesses we saw in The Goddess Test. Kate still has a lot to learn, but I think she gets a good taste of what her life will be like as Queen as the Underworld in this story.Although the shortness of this story minimised my exposure to Kate, I still found her a little annoying. This is a girl who has been thrust into the world of Greek m [...]

Spoilers if you haven't read The Goddess Test.My Summary:Having passed the tests and won immortality, Kate is free for the summer. Not really wanting to leave her new husband, Henry, but forced by her mother to remember she is still a teen finding her way, Kate heads to Greece with James. What should be a pleasant summer trip is far from it when James decides to visit some very old friends. Too bad they don't want to be found especially by the likes of the Gods. Drawn into the struggle of Lux an [...]

A short novella that happens between the Goddess Test and the recently released Goddess Interrupted. Presenting Goddess Test #1.5 The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter. Here is the summary of the book:A vacation in Greece sounds like the perfect way for Kate Winters to spend her first sabbatical away from the Underworlduntil she gets caught up in an immortal feud going back millennia. Castor and Pollux have been on the run from Zeus and Hades' wrath for centuries, hiding from the gods who hunt them. T [...]

I have to admit, I usually don't like novellas. They often feel rushed and unnecessary to the main story, and I just end up wanting more. The Goddess Hunt was different. It is only 70 pages long, but it actually felt like a fully developed novel to me. It starts off where The Goddess Test left off, with Kate and James about to spend six months in Greece. Of course James has a hidden agenda, and gets both of them mixed up in trouble from the very start. I never really liked James in The Goddess T [...]

This novella tells about Kate's six-month sabbatical. After passing the tests and becoming immortal in The Goddess Test, she marries Henry who is Hades the god of the Underworld. But she must spend six months away from him on Earth. She travels with James (Hermes) to Greece. James is her good friend but Henry's rival both for his position as god of the Underworld and for Kate's love. While in Greece, James engineers a meeting with Castor and Pollux. They have been on the run from both Walter (Zeu [...]

    A Book Vacation
As both The Goddess Test and Goddess Interrupted deal solely with Kate’s life during her six months of winter with Henry in the Underworld, I was extremely happy to find that Carter wrote this novella divulging some of the experiences Kate had during her summer months as well. This was especially helpful as Goddess Interrupted does allude to Kate’s trip to Greece, but not to the point where one must read this novella to understand what is happening in the central novels of this fabulous seri [...]
