Not a big book, but a fairly weighty one. It is a Western adventure with a non-violent anti-hero, an unconventional love story, and a commentary on the human condition.

Read this book over a decade ago and have saved the copy. Changed my opinion on the death penalty. Not often that a book has the power or persuasive ability to change a held opinion. Recommended.
