I really rate this book 2.5 stars and the extra half is because I am so invested in this series. Three new issues were revealed in this book, but not one was resolved. I can’t even say that there was a cliffhanger ending, because the story just stops. I got confused for a second when there was no new chapter to follow the final sentence. The book also veers from the usual pattern of each book following a different sister. We spent just as much time with Camille as we did with Delilah. If not f [...]

This book got off to a rather frustrating start due to an error, and then ended with a whimper, so despite some great - and emotionally wrenching - stuff in the middle, I am only going to give it four stars. Now to talk specifics. . .In the beginningwell, in the very beginning, we're with Delilah as she completes a task for her Death Maiden duties. But then she goes home, and at home, we see a few of the residents, including Roz. Now, Roz was mentioned, but THEN DID A FADE AND WAS MENTIONED NO M [...]

    Fangs for the Fantasy
Things are never quiet for the D’Artigo sisters. They’ve been called on to find a missing fae. Grandmother Coyote has some ominous warnings for them concerning a Daemonically charged building (and when one of the Hags of Fate warns you about something you need to pay attention) and the sisters even learn more about their family history – and unknown members of the human side. But all of that is eclipsed as the war in the Otherworld reaches new and terrible heights. There’s so much I love a [...]

As the D’Artigo sisters embark on trying to help out a couple of friends find a missing colleague, they have no idea how things are going to change. Besides their ongoing battle with Shadow Wing, who rules the subterranean realm and wants to open the portals to unleash hell on earth, they are approached by Grandmother Coyote, one of the Hags of Fate, for help. And no one, I mean NO ONE, refuses her. She informs the sisters of coming changes that will wreak havoc on earth as well back home in O [...]

I've seen mixed reviews on this particular book in the series "Otherworld". I however, still thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, you can tell that it had many different stories going on but to me the story line was much like life. You cannot plan or prepare for the unexpected. Yes, the girls had way more to deal with than normal in the earlier books and no they didn't deal with things as they came along but instead randomly dealt with the issues. Kinda reminds me of me when I forget to take my ADD meds [...]

This series is starting to loose it's luster for me. It seems that each book is packed full of life and death situations and the timeline is fairly short. In the overall larger story arc so much happened, the thing is that with this book there weren't any wins, it was all losses for the sisters, which made for a depressing book. The few happy moments, and there were few, had to do with babies and even then not all was happy. I felt so sorry for Chase and Shara, both were stuck with hard choices [...]

I love this series and I love how she changes up the viewpoint in each story, but this novel simply told told told instead of showing. I felt as though this were really the outline for the novel rather than the novel itself. The sex was totally gratuitous and none of the characters seemed in character. I also am not bothered by any kind of language, but the abundance of cursing in odd places made the book feel childish. I was disappointed and I may be done with this series.

2.5As much as I waited for this to come out, once I read it I was underwhelmed. Delilah is my favorite and I was looking forward to her story to deepen and unfold, but except for 2 times (which just seemed "convenient") her plot line went nowhere. Delilah's point of view seemed to get drown out by Camille's dialogue. It was just okay and maybe because so much time passed from the last one I read and this one, I just lost interest.

Is that really the endingI feel like I'm missing a few chapters.

Fourteenth in the Otherworld / Sisters of the Moon urban fantasy series revolving around a family of supernaturals based in Seattle. This particular story is from Delilah's point-of-view.My TakeIt starts so well, and then Galenorn lets me down with her usual ignoring of the obvious. Information that leaps out at you, that I never understand how the character can not make the connection Nope, it must be set aside and saved for later. I wish she'd offer up a reason for avoiding this. It's like Gal [...]

I am obviously invested in this series as I am now on book 14. I am curious to see where the story goes, but this is not the kind of series where when I finish a book I can't wait to get the next one. It will probably be at least a month before I pick this series up again. I prefer the books that focus on Dehlila, which this one was. Since it's been a while since I read the previous book I didn't really remember what was going on in the story. It doesn't take long to get caught back up which is [...]

Having read the rest of the series, and seeing how the sisters, Delilah in this case, have grown, this book was hard. It was very emotional, and a big turning point in their lives, and the war they're fighting. I enjoyed reading this one and I'm ready to move on to see how they deal with these new challenges.

    Kristina
This series gets better and better with every book I read.

    Jennifer
Not one of my favorite in the series, but I'll continue one.

felt a little let down that the story just ended. Also I was fairly irritated with this installment, either there is no editor or one that is not paying much attention, after the first wrong name (Chase instead of Shade) I was not too bothered since mistakes happen all the time, but the 2nd time.if I was not already this vested in the series, these errors would cause me to quit

    Dark Faerie Tales
Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Delilah and her two sisters are half-human, half-elf. They live earth side and help protect it from demon invasions. Now the threat is stronger on the demon front and now they are also being threatened by daemons.Opening Sentence: I stood at the top of the ravine overlooking the water front below. The Review:First, if you have never read any of the other books in the series go read them first. I have never read any of the others and was very [...]

(full german review under the cut!)Autumn Whispers was the best book of the series since a long, long time! Besided a darker atmosphere and events, that advance the main story, the book contains many developments for different characters. Menolly and Camille also get a little bit more space, which I enjoyed reading (It always annoys me when the other sisters don't get as much attention as the "protagonist sister"). I also liked that I got some insights in Delilahs duty as a Death Maiden. But wha [...]

This book has Delilah as the narrator again, the middle sister, the cat shifter / Death Maiden. Delilah has been training as a Death Maiden hard lately, and she is ready to go out on her own, and harvest those souls that are forfeited. If they are evil, they will be “recycled”, but if they have died a hero, they will be escorted to the light. The quiet times are over, Iris is having her twins, and the girls are needed everywhere else. The Wayfarer is torched, resulting in 8 casualties and Me [...]

Wieder eine tolle Geschichte und die Schwestern. Leider werden die Nachfolgebände nicht mehr ins deutsche übersetzt und ich glaube nicht, dass ich mich da ans englische heran traue.

3.5/5Mon avis en FrançaisMy English review I have a rather adversarial relationship with this series. Some volumes are good and others less, but it’s true that it’s not a series that manages to take me completely away. Yet here I am with the fourteenth volume (but you can also note that I have not read all the volumes in the series, there is still some large gaps between each novel I read). And I must say with great surprise, that it was pretty good compared to the last one I read. We also [...]

This book was horrendously disappointing.I say this as someone who considers Yasmine Galenorn to be one of her favorite authors, and the Otherworld series a Buy-On-Sight. But the last book, Haunted Moon, gave me the uneasy feeling that the series had jumped the sharkd this book confirms it. Where to begin with this? It's a mess. An absolute mess. There are so many plot twists, stuffed in with a seemingly haphazard, incoherent hand, it's a wonder the book's spine isn't bulging. The characters are [...]

Check out all my reviews HereBook 14 in the Sisters of the Otherworld series by Yasmine Galenorn, told by Delilah. Grandmother Coyote has come to the girls after finding that the balance of things is off and it's due to daemon energy coming out of a building in Seattle. She has charged the girls, and especially Delilah, to deal with it. The Wayfarer gets torched and an army is marching on the Elven homeland in Otherworld to try and claim the Spirit Seals the girls have given the Queen to protect [...]

Fourteen? Fourteen Otherworld books and there's no end in sight? In fact, things are getting even more complicated and convoluted. But, this as all good stuff. Delilah is growing up, finally. There's a lot less whine/complain/boo hoo in this installment of the Otherworld series focusing on Delilah. There is a little bit but this time, it's warranted. This book grabs one right from the start. We are thrown into death from the beginning and it continues to be a running theme throughout the book. T [...]

This book returns to Delilah's POV. She is a Death Maiden for the Autumn Lord and the book starts with her being called on to obliterate an evil soul. Grandmother Coyote shows up to tell the sisters they have to deal with a building that is being used by deamons to upset the balance. Vampire geeks call on them to find a lost Fae friend - Violet. Iris is overdue with twins. Sharah and Chase are about to have a baby and she still has not told her elf relatives - including the queen. The Wayfarer i [...]

Honestly, I was disappointed. I could not get into this book the entire time. I think it took me almost a month to read this, and it's usually one of my favorites to readcially Delilah. I even stopped reading and read another book before picking this back up. I don't think I've ever done this. The story wasn't wrapped up and maybe this is because the series is gearing up for the ending, but these books don't usually work that way. I felt that there was a lot of the same sayings and descriptions o [...]

I'm a huge fan of Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld series and Autumn Whispers was a major turning point for the D'Artigo sisters. The scales of good versus evil certainly shift in this installment. So much action, death, and destruction. I guess I should mention that Delilah is my least favorite of the sisters so I wasn't surprised that her book kinda fell flat for me. I was more interested in what was going on with Camille and Menolly than Delilah. That being said, this was a better read than Deli [...]

I really do adore these books, but this one, like many of the other reviewers mentioned, just was not quite right. The biggest thing for me is that there was absolutely no conclusion. I know that all the books have the large over-arching story line of Shadow Wing, but usually they each have their own story within it that is solved each time which makes each book stand on its own. And this one definitely did not. I read the last page and basically went "what the heck, someone forgot to print the [...]

Wow. Just wow. There was so much happening in this book! It started out with a quick hit and kept piling on the punches. I'm surprised the sisters could stand by the end. If it hadn't been for their men and friends The D'Artigo sisters have a long, hard road ahead, but I think they will face it like they've faced down everything so far: as a united front ready for whatever the universe can throw at them.I couldn't put this book down! In fact, I read about 90% of it in one night. If you are new t [...]

I can't believe this is book 14FORTEEN the Otherworld series. And what a ride it's been so far. Something tells me that it's about to get bumpy. I'm not going to give away spoilers in this book, but must tell you change is happening, big time, for the D'Artigo sisters. This book centers mainly on Delilah, our little cat shifter. Oh don't worry, a kitty is not her only shape, she can also become a panther and a Death Maiden. In other words: Lethal! The girls are awaiting the birth of their house [...]

Wellwhat can I say? For one, I don't like to give reviews which give ANY of the direct story away, but I can say thisI feel so badly for the sisters. I swear, the D' of their last name should stand for Disaster, Doom, Demon.hing. It seems as though it's one major hit after another for these three and all who surround them. This story was well-written. I became so absorbed in it, when the end came, I was shocked and disappointed. I understand, with what was occurring in the story, it will take a b [...]
