Loved this book set in Chicago. Especially loved the voodoo dolls, crazy ad industry people, sweet revenge, feminist epiphany, great friendship and the fabulous writing. It was so much fun to get lost in this story.

Pins by Christine Todd is charmingly funny. Molly Makepeace Jamison has the world at her feet. She is an advertising executive with a light, creative touch, known for engaging the consumer with humor and a vision of ordinary life. Beauty and wealth have come her way. What hasn’t, is a faithful husband. Bob Jamison has had a long affair with the office help. He hides one affair by berating a woman behind her back. When Molly calls him on his behavior, he turns on her, denies the affair, and cla [...]

Voodoo women do not give away their power - this is something that Molly learns after realizing her husband is cheating. As she shimmys in the shower to her favorite tune she decides to take her power back. Or at least vent by buying a voodoo doll of her husband and the other woman and filling them with pins. Voodoo isn't real - or is it?Overall an enjoyable read!

Pins tells the story of Molly Makepeace, a Canadian advertising executive married to Chicago ad agency owner Bob Jamison. She thinks she is living the American Dream, and wonders at her unhappiness. But when her husband turns out to be an ace womanizer, Molly realizes that the truth about them was in front of her all along. She decides to get even with Bob, and then chooses a mighty unusual and highly entertaining way to go about it. From the start, Christine Todd's writing is intelligent, fast [...]

Pins was a surprisingly good read. I found Molly Makepeace, the protagonist, engaging and couregous. She does not pamper herself while going through the process of unpacking her childhood suitcase of acquired wisdon and adopted destructive habits. She is awarded for her hard work. The metamorphosis is encouraging and at times very funny.

I couldn't put this delightful book down. As the story evolved, Molly got more and more under my skin. Written with a wry humor and great insight, the author's clever, understated style kept me turning the pages. It was most satisfying.

Murder, voodoo, betrayal, and advertising. What's not to love? A really great story! Enjoyed it immensely.

Left me wanting more of the story!
