The Good: The new(er) adventures of famed teenage sleuth Nancy Drew continue in this second volume, with all the same suspense and mystery that the first book had. While this is a decidedly different take on the infamous literary character, it's plenty of fun, and feels like a '90's Nickelodeon or Disney Channel series. Even if you're not within the target audience, if you're young at heart like I am, you'll definitely enjoy this. The Bad: Though I enjoyed it, this edgier version of Nancy Drew ma [...]

I've decided to revisit several of the Nancy Drew series from my childhood. Between the ages of seven and ten, I was completely and utterly OBSESSED with all things Nancy Drew - I think I read every story my library had. I still have the books my mum bought for me from library sales! I think I was reading those published in the late 90s-early 00s, given the numbers. It must be said, they haven't aged all too well, but they're still short, enjoyable reads. I think the nostalgia will keep me going [...]

I had completely forgotten about the Nancy Drew Files until an ebay search randomly turned them up and I flashed back to the early 90s. I had completely forgotten about this series and I remember being addicted to it! After reading the first book in 25 years, I remember why. The series is light and entertaining, not at all scary, and totally and completely 80s/90s: there are no cell phones; Nancy and her friends use the Yellow Pages; and Nancy solves cases in neon pink oversize shirts over leggi [...]

WowHaven't read Nancy drew in years this really brought back memories. Loved every minute of it. Also loved the original cover

Original recap for the Snark Squadhere.Book number two, also known as the book in which I figured out that there is going to be a new boy standing behind Nancy in probably all of these covers. I'd like someone to seriously discuss with me the metaphor there. I'll give you the heads up that my theory involves the phrase "ho fa sho."Nancy, Ned and the Bovine Besties are off to meet their favorite band in New York, on account of Nan's dad having the hook-up. The lead guitarist for the band goes mis [...]

I'd managed to avoid The Nancy Drew Files series throughout my childhood/adolescence (i.e I never even knew it existed), but apparently it was the young adult counterpart to the original children's Nancy Drew Mystery Stories. Files is Edgier and Sexier, going after the Sweet Valley High crowd, I suppose, andriously, this managed to go on for 124 volumes? Guess people liked Nancy and Ned having Romance Issues. I haven't read the first volume, but it looks like there's a little more continuity bet [...]

I needed a quick book to read and stumbled upon Nancy Drew, a childhood fav of mine. The first chapter totally hooked me, a famous rock star kidnapping, Nancy in the midst of things and then it all tumbles downhill. Being a fan of the Nancy Drew series, I could make out this book wasn't written by the usual ghost writer, and although there were some moments, the ending wasn't up to par. A villain not from the usual suspects, running into Dave who turns out to be Ned's college acquaintance and a [...]

Nancy is on the case and with the help of her friends and her boyfriend who comes to visit, they unravel a big secret-- but will they make it out alive before [...]

This book was kind of slow, but it was a really good story. Nancy and her friends get backstage passes to see a famous band preform, but the lead guitarist gets kidnapped. Nancy discovers that the people who kidnapped him were illegally selling the band's music via black market. They track the people down, but then all of them get kidnapped. Luckily, one of Nancy's friends comes looking for them and rescues them. The bad guys get arrested, and they take back all of the illegal copies of the musi [...]

Nancy, George, Bess and Alan went to New York to meet their favourite rock band. Things took turn to the worst when the lead of the rock band got kidnapped. And it was up to Nancy to find out his whereabouts since no one believed he was kidnapped. The case also affected Nancy personally when Bess started giving her the cold shoulder after Nancy accused Alan of lying about crucial piece of evidence and he denied it.

Nostalgia. Nostalgia. As I was down with fever I spent the night of December 31st with my cousins and introducing them to a wonder that's called reading. I picked up Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys books and Rumble Fish that were lying around the house and started to read them and was pretty overwhelmed with childhood memories. Nancy Drew is as awesome as I remember her to be. It was the best way to welcome the New Year.

I hope this series gets better. I spent a lot of money collecting the set on Ebay, and I would like a payoff. So far, book #2 was better than the first, but it still didn't hit the spot.I am seriously wondering if Kate William is the ghostwriter, the style reminds me a lot of Sweet Valley High. Nancy could be Elizabeth, George could be Enid, and Ned could be Todd. Too bad it isn't as good as Sweet Valley High.

In this Nancy Drew, it's a fast-paced kidnapping. The kidnapping of a rockstar. And something about Bess's new BF makes Nancy wonder if he's got something to hide. A 4.5 at the most. Don't ask why, I couldn't explain, but this one doesn't get the other 0.5. But then, reading it again isn't as much fun which could be part of my problem

Nancy thought it was Alan because of his instant fame! I mean it all starts with a judgment. Funny thing is, the person behind the Barton Novak incident was no other than a Chinese gangster and smuggler. Scary asian! Piracy had been the root of all unfortunate events. Whatts crap load of business dilemmas!

I remember reading this after I read the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys book where Bess's boyfriend makes an appearance. Nice to see what the reference was. Nancy is standing in front of a 1986 drawing of the NYC skyline on the cover. My eyes are just drawn to the Twin Towers.

Very entertaining, but I solved the mystery before Nancy did.

I am a huge fan of Nancy Drew books, but I found this one to be quite predictable and though it is a mystery novel it was lacking in the mystery department.

It was very interesting and exciting!!

I love rereading these. I love how 1980s/early 1990s they are and I love the description of the clothes.

Love the cover. Bess's new Boy is a douche

Omg! I used to read these when I was younger. I so wanted to be Nancy. It doesn't even matter now that the plots are so contrived. These stories will always be a fond part of my childhood!
